Component counting systems

Vision counting confirms quantity without physical contact, making it useful for visible parts in kits, trays, packs, indexed fixtures and controlled conveyor flows.

Application-led engineering

A vision system engineered around your process.

We assess overlap, product spacing, contrast and presentation. Where parts obscure one another, we address handling before relying on image processing alone.

We start with representative products, known defects, acceptable variation, line speed and the required response. That evidence determines the field of view, resolution, optics, processing and mechanical design.

What it can inspect

Typical counting checks.

Every item below is subject to application proof using the actual product, presentation and production conditions.

Parts in trays, pockets and kits

Configured against agreed examples, limits and the required line response.

Products crossing a defined conveyor zone

Configured against agreed examples, limits and the required line response.

Fasteners and components in assemblies

Configured against agreed examples, limits and the required line response.

Rows, layers and grouped pack formats

Configured against agreed examples, limits and the required line response.

Missing or excess item detection

Configured against agreed examples, limits and the required line response.

Batch and cycle count confirmation

Configured against agreed examples, limits and the required line response.

Production value

Make the inspection part of the process.

Detection is only useful when the result is delivered to the right control, operator or quality record at the right time.

  • Non-contact counting at the point of production
  • Confirm both count and visible product type
  • Trigger pack completion or reject logic
  • Record count results where traceability is required
Capture to action

One coordinated inspection workflow.

1

Capture

Trigger a stable image using controlled lighting, suitable optics and repeatable product presentation.

2

Decide

Apply proven rules, measurements or trained models with product-specific acceptance limits.

3

Act

Reject, divert, stop, alarm, guide automation or pass the result to production data systems.

Questions, answered

Vision inspection FAQs

Can vision count touching components?

Sometimes, but separation is more reliable. We test the real presentation and may recommend singulation or improved contrast.

Can the system detect both under-count and over-count?

Yes. Recipes can define the expected count and route any different result to the agreed response.

Can it count moving products?

Yes, using triggered or continuous acquisition selected around product speed, spacing and required accuracy.

Start with the product and defect

Let’s prove the inspection before you commit.

Send us samples, images, line-speed information and the defects you need to detect. We’ll recommend the right next step.
