Food vision inspection systems

Food vision inspection systems provide repeatable checks without touching the product. We engineer hygienic camera and lighting arrangements around your pack format, product variation, washdown regime and line speed.

Repeatable in-line quality control

Inspect the feature that matters, at the point it matters.

Food vision inspection systems provide repeatable checks without touching the product. We engineer hygienic camera and lighting arrangements around your pack format, product variation, washdown regime and line speed.

We combine controlled imaging with production-ready mechanical and controls integration. The system can reject, divert, stop, alarm or pass data to a wider line architecture according to the agreed requirement.

How we prove an inspection
Food inspection points

Typical applications.

We test the actual product, known defects and normal process variation before confirming the final method.

Pack, tray and product presence

Optics, lighting and acceptance logic configured for the product and line conditions.

Visible seal-area contamination or damage

Optics, lighting and acceptance logic configured for the product and line conditions.

Label, date-code and artwork presence

Optics, lighting and acceptance logic configured for the product and line conditions.

Product count, shape, colour and orientation

Optics, lighting and acceptance logic configured for the product and line conditions.

Missing toppings, components or kit items

Optics, lighting and acceptance logic configured for the product and line conditions.

Pack damage and visible surface defects

Engineering priorities

What makes a food vision system dependable?

01

Hygienic design

Materials, enclosures, cable routing and mounting are selected around the production zone and cleaning method.

02

Natural variation

Acceptance limits are developed from representative good product as well as known defects.

03

Line response

Inspection, tracking and rejection are coordinated so the correct pack is removed without disrupting production.

Relevant inspection methods

Build the right combination.

A system may combine several checks and views into one product result.

Questions, answered

Vision inspection FAQs

Can vision inspect through clear packaging?

Often, yes, although glare, film wrinkles and condensation must be assessed during sample testing.

Will the system work with natural product variation?

It can, provided the acceptable range is represented during development and the optical conditions are controlled.

Can it check date codes?

Presence, position and readable-code checks can be specified, subject to print quality, contrast and code format.

Start with the product and defect

Let’s prove the inspection before you commit.

Send us samples, images, line-speed information and the defects you need to detect. We’ll recommend the right next step.
